Superior Tire in Kingman Arizona Rips Off Women

Superior Tire in Kingman Arizona Rips Off Women

When we bought our 2008 Armada last December the Falken Wildpeak H/T 275/60R20 tires were only a few months old and still had very good tread. But my wife went to Superior Tire for an oil change, she came out with $1000 in new tires we didn't need.

The next day I noticed the car shaking like the tires were out of balance. That’s when she told me she bought new tires. I was mad because she got ripped off, and now my car was shaking because they didn't balance the tires.

I told her there was nothing wrong with the tires that were on the Armada and I wanted the old tires back. She called Superior Tire the next day and told them that we wanted our old tires back.

The next day she drove to Kingman to get the tires. This time she was told they would need to try and find our old tires. The following day when she called about the tires, they told her the tires were gone that someone picks up the old tires at the end of every day.

So when she asked the day before and the day before that what, they just forgot someone comes picks up the old tires at the end of every day?

We live out of town so it took a several weeks to get back into town to have the tires balanced.

After she sat at  Superior TireF for two hours they didn’t put the tires on the balance machine to check, they drove up and down Stockton Hill Road at 35 mph. Then they told my wife the tires were fine, BUT the front end needed $1000 in front end work.

About 45 minutes later on her way home after just being told the tires were fine, she had a blowout. It was 100 degrees out and she was only about half way home, somewhere on Highway 93 between Kingman and Dolan Springs.

US93 is not a place a woman wants to break down alone. I have her drive a big SUV because US93 in our part of Mohave County is the most dangerous section of the most dangerous highway in the United States. It’s also a main route for human and drug smuggling between Mexico, Phoenix, Kingman, Las Vegas, and points north.

My wife is 60 years old and disabled, changing a tire isn’t something she can do, especially a 20” tire on my SUV. Wanting to fix the tire she tried a can of fix a flat and I tried to inflate the tire with a 12v air pump we carry. It didn’t work.

Finally she called me and her brother and I went out to get her.

My husband and brother went out and changed the tire. When we got home my husband found two pieces of metal in the tire. Being 40 miles from the closest tire shop I put in two plugs just like a tire shop would do. When he inflated the tire it had two big bubbles larger than my cupped hand and a smaller one in the sidewalls.

When I took the tire back they couldn’t find me in their computer and couldn’t remember selling me the $1,000 worth of tires. Finally after my niece found the copy of the receipt they found her name in the computer. They said it would be a day or so and they would call her. Nobody called so she called them.

They said she had used 40% of the tread so prorated it would cost her $100. She goes to Kingman a couple times a week 80 miles round trip, so how can she use 40% of a tire 35,000 mile tire in 4-6 weeks?

The Accelera 275/60R20 XL IOTA ST68 tires they sold her are only $115 new other places and they’re guaranteed for 35,000 miles

I wonder what they use to measure tire tread. It showed our tires that had good tread were worn out and the “new” tires they sold my wife were 40% used in 4-6 weeks…

This is another of the reasons I think they sold her used tires and sold our tires to someone else..

When she said no to paying $100 because it was a new tire… They said because she tried fix a flat to try and get off the road at 100 degrees, and I plugged the tire they wouldn’t do anything.

She took the car to tire shop we trust. They put the tires on a balance machine and found they were out of balance, so they balanced them.

She’s getting another tire from a shop we trust…

I take care of our cars so I don’t know how they convinced her she needed to apply for a new credit card so she could buy $1000 in tires we didn’t need. We got in a big fight because she was taken advantage of without even calling me.

She was wondering how many women with abusive husbands got beat because these guys convinced their wife they needed to spend $1000 to make their car safe.
